Spring Break--The Start
Spring Break Started this week on Sunday. Jane, Mary, Mary's five children, three friends from school, and I drove from NH, to GA, arriving around 11:30am on Monday morning. I then whet with Diane to Spivey Hall. I was so glad I got to go! it was wonderful being "home" and hearing the Spivey sound again. *sigh*
Today (Tuesday) most of us went thrift store shopping all afternoon. Then we came home to an amazing, stupendous dinner made by Daddy and Mary, of tender loin wrapped in bacon, Asparagus, sweet potato, and salad. Dude, it was SOOOOOOOO good!!! Then went to the Pass' house and played games till 11pm. That was fun too. But who knows what tomorrow will hold.....

Life
Not to be smothered and hidden away;
It isn't a thing to be stored in the chest
Where you gather your keepsakes and treasure your best;
It isn't a joy to be sipped now and then
And promptly put back in a dark place again.
Life is a gift that the humblest may boast of
And one that the humblest may well make the most of.
Get out and live it each hour of the day,
Wear it and use it as much as you may;
Don't keep it in niches and corners and grooves,
You'll find that in service its beauty improves.

Psalm 23 (revised)
I have decided that people weren't reading the last half of my Post (the good part) because of the boring fist paragraph. So I have decided to remove it.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to read in my text books: he leadeth me to write my papers on time.
He restoreth my grades: he leadeth me in the paths of A's for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of school, I will fear no homework: for thou art with me; thy and rod thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest an easy class before me in the presence of mine comrades: thou anointest my head with a mostly sound mind: even when my cup of homework runneth over.
Surely good grades and merciful teachers shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will not dwell on the campus for ever.

The Ready Artists
And all of Nature's artists have their colors handy by;
With a few days bright with sunshine and a few nights free from frost
They will start to splash their colors quite regardless of the cost.
There's an artist waiting ready at each bleak and dismal spot
To paint the flashing tulip or the meek forget-me-not.
May is lurking in the distance and her lap is filled with flowers,
And the choicest of her blossoms very shortly will be ours.
There is not a lane so dreary or a field so dark with gloom
But that soon will be resplendent with its little touch of bloom.
There's an artist keen and eager to make beautiful each scene
And remove with colors gorgeous every trace of of what has been.
Oh, the world is now in mourning; round about us all are spread
The ruins and the symbols of the winter that is dead.
But the bleak and barren picture very shortly now will pass,
For the halls of life are ready for their velvet rugs of grass;
And the painters now are waiting with their magic to replace
This dullness with a beauty that no mortal hand can trace.
The green is in the meadow and the blue is in the sky;
The chill of death is passing, life will shortly greet the eye.
We shall revel soon in colors only Nature's artists make
And the humblest plant that's sleeping unto beauty shall awake.
For there's not a leaf forgotten, not a twig neglected there,
And the tiniest of pansies shall the royal purple wear.

Because He Lives
So here's a quick run down of the Christmas season, and new years etc.
I finished School on December 13
That afternoon I jumped on an Airplane and went to NH so help my sister drive home for the holidays. i arrived right after a large snow storm and got to the School at about midnight. I then helped my sister finish packing, went to bed, got up and left. we arrived home Saturday 15th about 8pm.
things went well over Christmas lots of Shopping, family, friends, Church, Presents, decorations, etc.
then on new years eve my sister J___ and my Dad went to a football game. I stayed home with my other sister R___ who wasn't feeling good. and went to bed. no i did not stay up till midnight.
New years day i got up at 5am and left with J___ to drive back to NH. We drove to Washington DC to spend the night. then we turned around and drove home again. because my Aunt Bertha (mention in a previous post) had died and we had to come back for the funeral. So we are now cleaning her house, and my Grandma's house, and our house expecting company and family all weekend with the funeral on Saturday. so we're all very busy. And I having spent so much time with her over the last year, know i will miss her very much. I haven't cried yet, but i know i will, only i don't have time right now, so I'm just not going to think about it. It's so comforting to know that she's in heaven and I'll see her again. the last night i was with her i was thinking about the last verse of the old hymn "Because he lives"
"And then some day I'll cross the river, I'll fight life's final war with pain
and then as death gives way to victory I'll see the light's of glory and I'll know He lives"
It makes me happy to think that she' not in any pain now, and she can walk and stand up straight, hear, and see, and talk and laugh like she used to.
and suddenly i don't have anything else to say, and i don't know how to end this. lets see....

What happened to my sleeping Job?
Those who know me know that I have a Great Great Aunt who is 104 years old. She needs 24 hour care, and my Mother and I take turns staying with her at night. Normally she sleeps the whole night though, and it is a fairly easy job. But the last two days we had to actually work. Night before last I was sitting up in the living room reading. About 10:30pm my Aunt woke up and sat up. She hollered into the living room, “Who's in there?” So I come in and say, “I am, what do you need?”
“Who are you?”
“I'm Amy”
“Amy who?”
“Amy T------?”
“Really? When did you marry into the T----- family?”
Sigh.......some other favorites from the last two nights are:
On my night:
I was trying to convince her that I was related to her.
Then convince her that she did know about me before that night.
Then she wanted me to call downstairs because she left her suitcase at the ticket office and didn't have any clothes to wear the next morning, and could somebody bring it to her. She was absolutely sure she was in a hotel in the next town over.
Then the next morning, I was trying to get her to walk to the dinning room for breakfast, but she didn't want to, she was trying to get me to carry her.
“No, Ma'am I can't carry you, you're going to have to walk.”
“Well isn't there anyone in town who can help?”
“No, Ma'am There's no one in town who can help”
“ Well I don't believe you. I think there'd be someone in town on a holiday like this.”
“But this isn't a holiday.”
“Yes it is, it's politics week.”
The next night my Mother was working,
this is Auntie:
I need a police man and a minister, because I need to move some furniture Tomorrow, and I need you to bring my clothes in here, because I'm going to get up and be gone tomorrow morning before you get up, so I can move that furniture...
She didn't sleep for more than 30 consecutive minutes that night. And my night she was up at least half the night, just rambling...
I really hope this doesn't become a habit, I liked my sleeping job....

Finally
I have finally have a blog (from blogger) and I might even try and post on it once in a while. Maybe...
For my first post I plan to stun and amaze my reading audience by saying something very witty!
But since I can't come up with anything at the moment, I am going to post several pictures of my nephews and niece, because their so cute!!!This is the oldest, he's 6 and tends to be kinda serious
And very curious :o)
#2 is 5 years old and on one side loves to rough-house...
...And on the other is like a little lovable teddy bear, who loves to get and give hugs!
This one is a boy after my own heart he loves playing with the Rubik's stuff
You have no idea how long it tool me to get a good picture of him, he has a habit of making faces.
This is the little lady, and after all the boy's she such a little girl!
#5 Will be happy forever if you just hold him....and he has a great laugh!
